Petrobras reported this Monday that it achieved a record gasoline production in the third quarter, with a volume of 6.38 billion liters.
In a statement, the state-owned company did not present comparative figures with the same period last year.
Complete production and sales data, with information on diesel and other fuels, should be released later.
The company said the record gasoline production was possible with a higher rate of refinery utilization.
In September, the utilization factor (FUT) of Petrobras refineries reached 96.8%, the highest monthly result of the year, as announced this Monday.
According to the state-owned company, with this reading, the accumulated FUT in the third quarter reached 95.2%, but a value still below that recorded in the same period last year, when it totaled 96% and was the highest quarterly result since 2014.
For the director of Industrial Processes at Petrobras, William França da Silva, the results achieved are the result of investments in projects to modernize units and optimize processes with the application of innovative technologies.
“With the quarter’s data, we are demonstrating Petrobras’ commitment to the efficiency and profitability of its operations. The milestones were achieved due to the integrated work of the entire company”, he stated.
The company also reported that in the third quarter a record number of pre-salt oil processing in distillation units was also recorded, with 73% of the total load processed.
