The State of Piauí elected the oldest and youngest mayor of the elected candidates. Colonel Elói (PSD), aged 87, was re-elected in Barro Duro (PI), while Juninho de Marinalva (MDB), 21 years old –minimum age allowed–, was elected in Curral Novo do Piauí (PI). The age difference between them is 66 years.
Brazil elected yet another 21-year-old mayor. However, Marinalva continues to be the “youngest” among those elected. Eduardo do Alex (PSD), elected in Heliodora (MG) and born in March, is 6 months older than the “youngest” mayor, who was born in September.

Juninho de Marinalva had 99.14% of the votes (4,497 votes), while his competitor Zé Filho (União) had only 39 votes (0.86%).
