Mia’s letter
Wonderful news, which can only fill the hearts of all motorsport enthusiasts with joy and hope. Below we report the full translation of the letter published on their Instagram profile by Mia and her family.
“16 weeks ago in Misano.
16 weeks ago was my proudest and happiest moment, when I stood on the starting line of the first ever Women’s World Championships.
16 weeks ago my life was turned upside down in a matter of seconds when I fell and suffered a traumatic brain injury.
16 weeks ago they shaved off all my hair.
16 weeks ago, my body and mind were completely knocked out.
But above all:
16 weeks ago I was given the gift of life again.
Today I’m here:
I walk alone, I think, I remember more and more, I talk, I laugh, I cry, I eat, I play, I fight – I’m alive!
It is the right side that is affected by the brain injury, but it is recovering little by little and I intend to continue training and working until it is back to its best.
I still don’t realize that I participated in the World Championship and I remember very little about that adventure. But my heart and body remember happy encounters with people, especially with the girls I competed with.
That’s why I’m extremely happy to announce that I have received clearance from the doctors to attend this year’s WorldWCR final at the Circuito de Jerez in Spain to say goodbye to all the girls and watch the final two races.
My closest people and my team are with me the whole time and I am deeply grateful to be able to do this.
See you soon.
With love, Mia and family”
