Mexico City.- The INE demanded that the Electoral Court not stop preparations for the election of Ministers, Magistrates and Judges in 2025.
Through an electoral trial, the INE indicated that Judges do not have jurisdiction to suspend acts of an electoral nature, and that the suspensions granted slow down the preparations for the judicial election.
“The responsible authorities lack the competence to rule on general norms and acts of materially electoral content, while said orders and their effects constitute an invasion of powers conferred on the Supreme Court and the Chambers of the Electoral Tribunal. “These resources are aimed at the obstruction of the state function of organizing elections conferred on the INE,” indicates the appeal, which was turned over to Judge Felipe de la Mata.
Of the 71 suspensions that judges from various states have issued against the reform of the Judiciary, the electoral body had received 25 notifications until last Friday.
