New York Post ridiculed North Korean beach commercial with Russians
The New York Post (NYP) ridiculed a North Korean beach commercial featuring Russians. Video published on the website of the Western publication.
“North Korea is praising the country’s beaches, with commercials showing attractive Russians frolicking on the sand,” the story says.
It is clarified that the advertisement was launched by the State Travel Company Korea International Travel Company. The video was filmed at Majeong Beach in North Korea’s South Hamgyong Province.
As NYP writes, in the footage posted online, “enthusiastic couples are jumping on the waves, and a Russian woman is shadowboxing against the backdrop of a majestic mountain.”
“Ironically, the advertisement shows women in bikinis, although such swimsuits are prohibited in a totalitarian country,” the author of the publication sneers.
It was previously reported that North Korea will open its borders to foreigners in December 2024. International tourism is planned to resume in the northeastern city of Samjien and then possibly in the rest of the country.
