The remake of Until Dawn it has now been available on Steam for a few days (it was launched on October 4th) and the launch data is therefore settling down. Unfortunately for Ballistic Moon and Sony, they don’t seem to be exactly great. We are not at Concord levelsbut it is difficult to see any signs of success.
Poor numbers
Meanwhile the maximum peak of contemporary players was really lowreaching only 2607 people two days ago. The access curve for the game was quite stable for the entire weekend, only to collapse today, falling well below the thousand concurrent players. More precisely, Until Dawn is currently played by 512 people. It’s normal for there to be more players on weekends, but we’re still talking about a new game (the original doesn’t exist on PC) from a well-known series, so the result is still considered negative.
To underline the potentially disappointing sales the position in the global Steam ranking also takes care of it, which currently sees Until Dawn at 71st position. Consider that this is his first week, the one in which he should do the best numbers. Will he have been disadvantaged by the price of 69.99 euros, which many will have perceived as excessive for a remake? Or, more simply, is it a useless project, as highlighted in our review? For comparison, the remake of Silent Hill 2 has been at the top of the global rankings for days (it is currently third, below Dragon Ball: Sperking! ZERO and Counter-Strike 2).
As we said, the reviews on Steam also reflect the lack of success of the game. Until Dawn has currently received 573, of which only 67% are positive, for an overall rating of “Average”. In short, it doesn’t seem like it’s shining on Steam. He will certainly have done better on PS5considering that the original is a PS4 exclusive, but by how much?
