This year too, the possibility that Pecco Bagnaia and Jorge Martin could compete for the MotoGP title at the last race in Valencia seems to be becoming more and more concrete. The Motegi weekend smiled on the reigning world champion, who showed off a beautiful double and took advantage of the double comeback his rival was called upon to make from 11th place on the grid to reduce the gap in the standings from 21 to just 10 points .
After the Japanese Grand Prix, Ducati already has the arithmetic certainty that one of its riders will sit on the world championship throne, but the “family” battle is wide open. And the team manager of the official team of the Borgo Panigale manufacturer, Davide Tardozzi, took stock of the situation speaking with colleagues at GPOne.com.
“Never like this year, whoever wins the title will deserve it and whoever finishes second will not be less. There is absolute mutual respect between Pecco and Martin, because they both know their strength and Bagnaia is not afraid to face Jorge in Valencia, where he is very strong on his home track,” said Tardozzi.
10 points are really nothing when there are still four events to go, with 148 points up for grabs: “The challenge is absolutely open and to be played. Both can win it: whoever wins it will be deserved, and whoever loses it will not be second” .

Experiencing it from the Red side of the battle, however, we must also take into account a small paradox, linked to the fact that Bagnaia was not enough to have won more than double the Prima Pramac Racing rider (in the Sunday races, in the Sprints the comparison still sees him in advantage 6-5) to lead the standings.
“It is paradoxical to think that Pecco has won 8 races while Jorge has won 3, and despite this he is 10 points behind in the championship. This is an open wound, but I believe that Bagnaia knows it well and I am convinced that he will give us the satisfaction that he and the whole team, because in the end Pecco is aware of the value of the team”, concluded the manager from Romagna.
