The Fujairah Martial Arts Club achieved first place in the Elite Wrestling Championship held in Abu Dhabi, with the participation of more than 120 players from nine clubs and academies specialized in this Olympic game, which reflects the Federation’s keenness to develop the level of the game at all levels.
Members of the Wrestling Federation: Abdul Rahim Al Nuaimi, Moza Al Ali, and Sultan Al Ketbi attended the championship competitions, and participated in crowning the winners. While the Fujairah Club took first place, the Sharjah Self-Defense Sports Club came in second place, while the Al Ansar International School team took third place. .
Abdul Rahim Al Nuaimi, a member of the Board of Directors of the Wrestling Federation, expressed his happiness with the success achieved by the tournament, saying: “The tournament is an important step towards achieving the Federation’s vision of spreading the sport of wrestling on a large scale in the country, with a focus on supporting and developing young people to enable them to achieve success in the arena.” The International Championship and the Elite Championship this year witnessed a high level of organization and competition, which strengthens our confidence in continuing to organize other tournaments aimed at developing this sport.”
He added: “We at Al-Ittihad are committed to organizing more tournaments in the near future, and we seek to hold a new tournament next month to enable players to continue improving their level. We also plan to organize a distinguished tournament next December to coincide with the UAE National Day celebrations, and these events represent part of “It is part of our ongoing efforts to support and develop the sport of wrestling, and to create new opportunities for everyone who wants to learn and practice this sport.”
For her part, Moza Al Ali, a member of the Federation’s Board of Directors, confirmed that the tournament comes within an integrated strategy aimed at spreading the game throughout the country, noting that the Federation seeks to provide all the necessary capabilities and infrastructure to enable athletes to develop their abilities, and she added: “The Our future vision aims to make the sport of wrestling available to everyone, whether professionals or amateurs, and to encourage younger generations to practice this sport that requires strength, discipline and commitment.”
The Elite Championship came within the framework of the Wrestling Federation’s strategy aimed at supporting and empowering young men and women, and expanding the base for practicing wrestling in the country. This strategy seeks to create a competitive sports environment that contributes to enhancing skills and refining young sports competencies, by providing professional platforms for competition and learning. This tournament is part of a comprehensive vision to develop the sport of wrestling in the Emirates, not only at the level of professional champions, but also to include junior and youth categories, ensuring the continued growth of this sport and increasing its popularity among various age groups.
