The National Meteorological Service, dependent on the National Water Commission (Conagua), reported this afternoon that “Milton” intensified from a tropical storm to a category 1 hurricane off the coast of Veracruz.
“Milton” is located 355 kilometers east-northeast of Cabo Rojo, Veracruz, and 465 west-northwest of Progreso, Yucatán, with maximum sustained winds of 130 kilometers per hour, gusts of 155 and with a trajectory towards the east at 9 kilometers per hour,” according to a statement cited by the President, who last Wednesday visited Acapulco, Guerrero, affected by the passage of Hurricane “John.”
The National Meteorological Service and the National Hurricane Center of the United States maintain a prevention zone for the effects of a tropical storm from Celestún, Yucatán, to Cabo Catoche, Quintana Roo, and a surveillance zone for the effects of a tropical storm from Cabo Catoche to Cancún. , Quintana Roo.
