Lucas Pavanato (PL), 26 years old, received 161 thousand votes and proposes “prohibiting the use of bathrooms opposite to biological sex”
The most voted candidate for councilor in São Paulo, Lucas Pavanato (PL), proposes “prohibit” that trans people use the “bathroom opposite biological sex” and says he will “work to straighten this city out”.
The 26-year-old will be a councilor for the first time. In 2022, he ran for the position of state deputy for Novo, but was not elected. At the time, it received 36,000 votes.
On his campaign website, the councilor also proposes including financial education and entrepreneurship in São Paulo’s school curriculum and financing institutions that serve women in vulnerable situations to avoid abortion.
In 2021, the feminist bench, Psol’s collective mandate in the City Council of the capital of São Paulo, accused councilor Fernando Holiday (Novo-SP) of discrimination in the Transphobia CPI. At the time, Pavanato, who was her advisor, shared a video on social media with Holiday that associated trans women with men and the rape of women.
