Lukashenko congratulated Putin on his birthday and wished him longevity
President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko congratulated his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin on his birthday and wished him longevity, happiness and success in his activities in office, according to the website of the press service of the head of state. On October 7, Putin turned 72 years old.
The Belarusian leader praised Putin for his “deep understanding of Russia’s historical mission” and said that “personal responsibility for the fate of the people and the Fatherland” has become a “reliable guarantee” of strengthening its statehood and sovereignty.
In addition, Lukashenko emphasized that the country “highly appreciates Putin’s consistent firm position” and his “principled attitude” towards the further development of Belarusian-Russian relations of alliance and strategic partnership.
Earlier, the Russian president was congratulated by the head of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov. He wrote that Putin led the country when it was predicted to be “mere months away from complete collapse and subsequent anarchy,” but was able to overcome the crisis, take “a worthy place on the world stage” and “managed to rally society around the idea of national revival.”
