Analyst Zvarich said that banks offer deposits at 20% per annum
Banki.ru chief analyst Bogdan Zvarich explained that banks offer deposits at 20 percent per annum, since their policy depends on assessing the trajectory of the key rate in the future, as well as their own need for borrowed money from Russians. According to him, in some cases the period may be less than a year, reports Prime agency.
“Credit institutions include in deposit rates the possibility of both further tightening of monetary policy by the regulator and the expectation of a later transition by the Central Bank to the monetary policy easing cycle,” the expert said.
He added that if inflation accelerates, expectations for the key rate may once again change, as a result of which deposit conditions will be even more attractive.
Earlier, the Chairman of the State Duma Committee on the Financial Market, Anatoly Aksakov, said that ruble deposits look like the most reliable and profitable tool for storing savings in conditions of a high key rate. In addition, he recommended that Russian residents acquire a financial safety net, the volume of which should be enough for two to three months of expenses.
