Mission accomplished for Martinator
Jorge Martin today he achieved the maximum considering that he started from the fourth row. The World Championship leader quickly recovered to second place, also taking advantage of Pedro Acosta’s fall.
The Pramac rider still has it 10 points ahead towards Francesco Bagnaia in view of the second and final Asian hat-trick before the grand final in Valencia.
“Pecco is good for me. When he takes a step, I have to hold him up or vice versa – Martin said to the microphones of Sky Sports MotoGP – the other day he said he wanted a fight between us on the track, so I hope that next time he closes the throttle so we can fight because he had a really good race today. Coming back from 11th place I had to use the tire a lot at the start, so when I got behind Pecco I was already at the limit. In any case he made a perfect strategy starting from the front, it was a shame that I made a mistake in qualifying. The first few laps were good and I was sure I would get 2nd here quickly. It’s also true that I had to pass Binder and Enea, both very strong as was Marc Marquez, but I managed it quickly and had no problems with the fuel. The ranking? I’d rather arrive in Valencia like this than arrive without any possibility. If I were to arrive in Valencia like this I would be happy, but there are good tracks for me where I can score good points. It will be long, but it will be important to arrive in Valencia with good options.”
