The American artificial intelligence company OpenAI has launched a new way to interact with the artificial intelligence conversation platform GBT Chat with a user interface called “Canvas”.
This interface opens a separate window, alongside the regular chat window, with a workspace for writing texts or programming codes. The user can generate texts or codes on the Canvas interface, and then select the parts that the large language model has modified.
The TechCrunch website, which specializes in technology topics, indicated that the Canvas interface was launched experimentally on the GPT Plus chat platform and the online video conferencing application Teams, and it will be launched during the current week for users of the Enterprise and Edu services.
Many AI services companies are moving toward providing customizable workspaces as a practical way for users to benefit from generative AI. The new interface of the GPT chat platform provides features similar to those found in the Artificial Facts program, which Anthropic has been providing for artificial intelligence technologies since last June.
OpenAP is striving to confront the features and advantages offered by competing companies and has introduced many additional features to the paid version of the GBT Chat platform with the aim of increasing the user base of this version.
It is noteworthy that automated AI conversational platforms cannot complete any large projects through a single space for writing user commands, while they are able to provide a good starting point. But new additional workspaces such as Canvas allow the user to modify the chat platform’s output and correct errors, without having to create an entirely new part of the project to perform the editing process.
“It’s just an additional natural interface for collaborating with GBT Chat,” said Daniel Livni, product manager at OpenAI. Canvas.
