Six migrants died and 10 more were injured in Chiapas, after the military opened fire on the van in which they were traveling. President Claudia Sheinbaum assured that the Attorney General’s Office (FGR) will investigate military commanders for these events and that the elements who fired were already placed at the disposal of this body of justice. The president expressed her intention that those responsible for these crimes be punished and that similar situations are not repeated in Mexico. “A situation like this cannot be repeated, I have already spoken with the secretary to take measures (so that it is not repeated),” he said. Pro-migrant and religious activists have lamented these murders, and requested a thorough investigation, remembering that they are a vulnerable population who also tend to be prey to organized crime and victims of various violations of their human rights.
