The World Tennis League, which is organized by the Abu Dhabi Sports Council in cooperation with the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi and Miral Company, has revealed a distinguished list of tennis players in its third edition, which is scheduled to be held at the famous Etihad Arena from 19 to 22 next December.
The Etihad Arena will witness an exceptional gathering of players, as the list includes two Olympic medalists, five Grand Slam champions, seven of the top 12 players in the men’s category, and six of the top 10 players in the women’s category, to present “the biggest show in the stadiums.”
The tournament will include the first participation of three prominent stars: Barbora Krzejcikova, the 2024 Wimbledon champion (ranked 9th in the world), Jasmine Paolini, the women’s doubles gold medalist at the 2024 Paris Olympics (ranked 5th in the world), and Diana Schneider, the Olympic silver medalist (ranked 17th in the world). 13 prominent tennis stars are also preparing to return to the World Tennis League 2024, which promises a more diverse and inclusive experience.
Aryna Sabalenka (ranked 2 in the world) returns to the World Tennis League after her recent victory in the US Open Tennis Championship, along with Iga Švyontek (ranked 1 in the world), winner of a bronze medal in the 2024 Paris Olympics and holder of the Roland Garros title for the third time in a row this year.
The list also includes prominent players such as Jelena Rybakina (ranked 4 in the world), Paula Badosa (ranked 20 in the world), and Caroline Garcia (ranked 30 in the world).
At the same time, Daniil Medvedev (ranked 5 in the world) and Andrey Rublev (ranked 6 in the world), who were part of the PPG Eagles team that won the 2023 World Tennis League title, will also return, and Taylor Fritz (ranked 7 in the world), runner-up in the 2024 US Open, will also participate. Along with Hubert Hurkacz (ranked 8 in the world), Casper Ruud (ranked 9 in the world), and Grigor Dimitrov (ranked 10 in the world).
Among the men’s stars, Stefanos Tsitsipas (ranked 12th in the world) and Sumit Nagal (ranked 82nd in the world) will return to participate in one of the largest sporting events in Abu Dhabi.
The previous edition of the World Tennis League was attended by more than 20,000 people, with live broadcast to more than 125 countries. The event also featured musical performances by international artists on Yas Island.
