Deputy Lisovsky: self-employed taxi drivers may be exempt from medical and technical inspection
A bill will be submitted to the State Duma that would exempt self-employed taxi drivers from undergoing medical and technical examinations, as well as from issuing waybills. This was reported by RBC with reference to Sergei Lisovsky, Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee for Protection of Competition.
In addition, self-employed people may be given the opportunity to take out insurance without indicating that the car is used to provide taxi services. The parliamentarian believes that this will reduce the cost of policies, and therefore the financial burden experienced by the self-employed will weaken.
Earlier, the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) warned that if the Ministry of Economic Development’s bill “On the Platform Economy in the Russian Federation” is adopted, this will result in a number of problems for taxi users.
There is also information that the volume of the gray taxi market has seriously increased in Russia recently. For example, there are 3.8 thousand such groups on the VKontakte social network.
