Yesterday, the Israeli army announced that two Israeli soldiers were killed and 24 others were injured in a drone attack launched from Iraq.
The Israeli army stated in its investigation that, “Two drones loaded with explosives were launched from Iraq in the attack. The air defenses shot down one of them, while the second hit an army base in the occupied northern Golan Heights, minutes later.”
Iraqi factions announced in a statement that they attacked three targets in three separate operations in northern Israel.
Israeli media reported that sirens sounded in several towns in the occupied Golan when the first drone entered the airspace, but the investigation found that “there was a clear failure” to detect the second drone in a timely manner, and therefore the alerts were not activated, and the The soldiers on the base have enough time to seek cover.
The Israeli army continues to investigate why the sirens did not sound.
In addition to the two soldiers who fell in this attack, 24 others were injured, including two soldiers in serious condition, one in moderate condition, and 21 who were lightly injured.
Separately, Israeli army spokesman Avichay Adraee said yesterday that a march launched from Iraq was successfully intercepted, and published pictures of this “march.”
