We are now close to the launch of Diablo 4: Vessel of Hatredwith the maxi-expansion for Blizzard’s hack and slash RPG set to arrive next week, and it looks to be really a great expansionalso to see the first ratings in reviews online.
The ratings are almost all positive among the 28 currently received on Metacritic, with only one vote falling into the “mixed” area and being a 70, while all the others are much higher and are mainly concentrated between 80 and 90, bringing at a weighted average of 85, at least for the moment.
Beyond the numbers, it’s interesting to see how close the ratings are enthusiasticby many editors, seeing this expansion not only as the best point reached so far by Diablo 4 but, for some, even as one of the pinnacles reached by the series in general.
Let’s see a first list of votes
According to PCGamesN, for example, Vessel of Hatred takes everything that made Diablo 2 and Diablo 3 great and “modernizes it for the present time”, while PC Gamer, usually quite stingy with praise, reports that “Vessel of Hatred gives Diablo 4 is a beating heart: engaging characters to root for, creative loot to chase, and punchy action.”
IGN and Gamespot are side by side in their rating, an “80” in both cases, with excellent assessments of the changes applied to the gameplay but some doubts about the stability of the story.
