Two Israeli soldiers died and 24 others were injured this Friday (4) as a result of a drone attack “launched from the east” against northern Israel, in an action claimed shortly after by pro-Iran militias in Iraq.
The deceased are Sergeant Daniel Aviv Haim Sofer and Corporal Tal Dror, both aged 19, according to the Israeli Armed Forces in a statement.
Shortly after the announcement of the soldiers’ deaths, pro-Iran militias in Iraq claimed responsibility for an attack launched this Friday with drones against three targets in three separate operations in the Golan Heights and Tiberias.
According to Tel Aviv, two explosive drones launched from Iraq reached Israeli territory and only one could be intercepted, while the other fell on a military base in the north of the Golan Heights.
“In addition to the two dead, another 24 soldiers were injured in the attack, two of them seriously,” the newspaper reported. Times of Israel.
