Snake’s iconic voice, David Haytershows on social media his probable return to play the protagonist of Metal Gear Solid.
After being away from the role for many years, replaced by Kieref Sutherland in MGSV: The Phantom Pain, Hayter seems to be back in the saddle again, although nothing seems certain yet.
In one of his posts on X, Hayter writes:
In the booth… Playing a role I’ve not played since…
Followed by a gif of Naked Snake. It is not very difficult to understand what the role in question is, which has sparked the hype among fans of the saga.
We know that Konami for Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eaterwhich is currently still in development, will use the original audio from the PS2 title. This means that the voice actor is probably working on another project.
On his page IMDB he was credited as the voice of Solid Snake in the fan-made film Sonic Villains. The film may use old clips but it is very likely that Hayter lent his voice to previously unreleased material.
In any case, nothing denies the hypothesis that he may officially resume his role as Snake. At the moment there is no real statement on the matter, so we can’t do anything but wait.
