The Abu Dhabi Federal Court of Appeal ruled to convict a teacher of British nationality, punishing him with three years in prison, fining him five thousand dirhams, and deporting him from the country after serving the sentence, for committing the crimes of requesting a gift for himself as a bribe from the students of the school where he works, in exchange for amending their answers in the scientific test papers. Which he teaches, and raises their grades in it unjustly, which would harm education in the UAE.
The Public Prosecution had begun its investigations into the case and referred it to the competent criminal court after the investigations resulted in the availability of many pieces of evidence that confirmed that the teacher had committed these acts.
It is worth noting that the Federal Public Prosecution is investigating a number of cases related to combating fraud and violating the examination system.
