European Space Agency co-finances Polish Perun rocket
The European Space Agency (ESA) has allocated €2.4 million in co-financing for the further development of the Polish company SpaceForest’s Perun suborbital rocket. About this reports European Spaceflight publication.
The 11.5-meter promising carrier is designed to deliver a payload weighing up to 50 kilograms to an altitude of up to 150 kilometers. To date, SpaceForest has completed two flight tests of Perun, during which the rocket reached altitudes of 22 and 13 kilometers.
The funding provided by ESA will be used to develop the SF1000 rocket engine, which is planned to be tested at altitudes of 50, 80, 100 and 150 kilometers, as well as to design a mobile refueling station and a ground support station.
