Sony continues to have some strange policies regarding the PC world. The latest decision regarding Horizon Zero Dawn, Remastered and otherwiseis one of those that risks causing discussion, at least where it has been applied. What happened? Simple. The game is no longer for sale on Steam and Epic Games Store in territories where it is not possible to create a PSN accountdespite not having the original as a requirement the account itself. Not only that, because in the meantime the original game has been removed from these same territories, despite having been on sale since launch.
Sony mess
Consider that the original game still exists in the stores indicated, i.e. it can be purchased in a bundle with the update to the remastered version. Simply it can no longer be purchased in approximately 170 territories and those who own it cannot upgrade to the latest generation version.
It should also be said that among these territories there are also some where PlayStation officially sells its products but which, due to local laws, do not allow the diffusion of PSN.
Currently, anyone in these territories wishing to purchase Horizon Zero Dawn, could only do it on GOGwhere it was not removed from sale. So no Steam or Epic Games Store.
In short, we are faced with a bit of a mess that still involves millions of people. Sony seems to be very interested in spreading PSN as much as possible, but at the expense of those who cannot register, even though they may want to do so.
For the rest we remind you that Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered will be available on PC and PlayStation 5 starting October 31, 2024.
