PRTB candidate stated that part of Nunes’ campaign money was donated by PL
In an attack against Ricardo Nunes (MDB), the candidate for Mayor of São Paulo Pablo Marcal (PRTB) associated this Thursday (October 3, 2024) the president of the PL, Valdemar da Costa Neto, with the emedebista campaign. Marçal mentioned that PL is the biggest donor to the opponent’s campaign.
“The biggest donor to Ricardo Nunes’ campaign is Valdemar Costa Neto, from Mensalão. These candidates here are using your public money”said Marçal, during the debate on TV Globethe last one before the 1st round.
The speech was given after Guilherme Boulos (Psol) question Marçal for having in his team former members of the administration of the former governor of São Paulo João Doria (PSDB).
“By any chance, did Doria give birth to him?”asked Marçal.
To which Marçal replied: “You are the richest candidate here. iPhone Socialist. He received R$30 million from (president) Lula from the Electoral Fund.”
That’s when he mentioned Valdemar.
According to data from Divulgacand, maintained by the Electoral Court, the PL donated R$17 million for Nunes’ campaign. The value corresponds to 38% of Nunes’ cash.
The PL is the former president’s party Jair Bolsonarofor whom Marçal tried to gain support, but failed.
Marçal also said that his opponents spent public money to criticize him:
“Do you know how much they spent to attack my name on the radio, on TV, on the internet? R$50 million. They don’t know, because they didn’t generate that value. One has the profile of a councilor, the other is a deputy, the other is already a deputy, the Datena (PSDB) is coming to the end of his career.”
DATA SHEET SHOWS TRIPLE TECHNICAL DRAW
