Mexico City.– President Claudia Sheinbaum boasted that the Felipe Ángeles International Airport (AIFA) has been selected for the Prix Versailles award, as one of the achievements in architecture.
Through her social networks, the president celebrated that the terminal appears on the list of winners, along with five other airports located in Abu Dhabi, Singapore, Bangkok, Boston and Kansas City.
“Look: Felipe Ángeles International Airport (AIFA) was selected by the prestigious Prix Versailles award as one of the most beautiful architectural and design achievements in the world, on par with airports in Abu Dhabi, Singapore, Bangkok, Boston and Kansas City “said the President. The Prix Versailles is an annual award from UNESCO and the International Union of Architects (UIA) that recognizes the best contemporary architecture and design worldwide.
According to its official website, the award recognizes airports and other projects that demonstrate innovation, creativity and sustainability.
In addition to AIFA, this year the Zayed International airports in Abu Dhabi were selected; Changi, Terminal 2, in Singapore; Suvarnabhumi Airport, Bangkok; Logan International Terminal E, in Boston, and Kansas City International. The award also recognizes screenings in other categories, including campuses, stations, sports, retail, malls, hotels and restaurants. “The most beautiful achievements in the world. The recognition of the most beautiful works in the world, granted by the Prix Versailles, highlights the fundamental role of the winners in the beautification and improvement of the living environment,” it states on its official site. “These awards, given each year by the Prix Versailles, are examples presented to the world, signs of exceptional architecture and design.” Sheinbaum’s publication was taken up by the son of former President Andrés Manuel López Obrador, José Ramón López Beltrán, who spread videos and photographs of the air terminal, located in Zumpango, State of Mexico.
