At least 200 people were killed as a result of Hurricane Helen, which swept through several states in the southeastern United States and caused widespread destruction, especially in North Carolina, where more than half of the victims died, according to what American official sources reported Thursday.
A census by Agence France-Presse, based on official figures, showed that two hundred people were killed in the states of North and South Carolina, Georgia, Florida, Tennessee and Virginia, making Helen the second most fatal hurricane on the American mainland in more than half a century, after Hurricane Katrina in 2017. 2005.
