In the midst of the scandal and public denunciation, Jhon Vázquez did not remain silent and denied the threats made by the club. “I express here my position regarding the uncomfortable situation that I am experiencing, generated by the non-compliance with a payment that Alianza Fútbol Club had to make to me, a case that was made public with the statement presented by that club in the last few hours.”
The current Goias striker from Brazil stated that he is demanding the rights he has as a player: “As a soccer professional I have always strived to fully fulfill my duty in all the clubs I have been in, working honestly and leaving everything inside. and off the field, that is why I exercise my right to demand compliance with the payments agreed upon as remuneration for my work and to which I am entitled for transfers between clubs.”
“Taking into account that football is a short career, all the resources obtained are important for my current and future financial situation, since they are destined to pay obligations and support my family. I want to make it very clear that I would never resort to violence to claim what belongs to me and that I am willing to respect legal procedures so that my rights are not violated. I hope you understand that, since that club’s debt has been going on for a long time, I have had some reactions that are not the most appropriate, in which I have become upset and let myself be carried away by emotions, but I insist that I would never go to the violence as that club wants to show in its statement,” he added.
Finally, he explained that he is frustrated by the situation he is experiencing with his former team: “Public opinion must understand that it is very frustrating for us footballers not to receive the payments to which one is entitled as a result of our work or a transfer, such as “The law and regulations say so, and this leads us to these types of situations where managers always want to take advantage and give an image that is not the real one in front of the fans and the press.”
Vázquez demands money that, he claims, the team that is currently based in Valledupar owes him. The case arose due to the player’s transfer to Deportivo Cali in 2019 and a percentage of 8 percent of the sale that was allegedly owed to the footballer. In fact, the Dispute Resolution Chamber of the Colombian Football Federation is studying the case.
“Whatever you want to do, you are going to pay me my money by hook or by crook, in three days you are going to pay me (…) and I am going to prove that you are going to pay me,” he says. in the statement.
“That cucho is going to pay me in three days, and he should take this message and send it to the Prosecutor’s Office if he wants or to the Police so that he can say that I am threatening him, so that I can tell him that I am threatening him, but my money will go to me.” will pay in three days,” he adds.
Alianza explained that the player Jhon Vázquez is not owed any money: “Alianza FC is not responsible for making said payment (8 percent of the transfer) to the player, based on sporting regulations and the agreements signed between the parties.” .
