The craziest deaths ever!
Today we have here for you a ranking of 5 of the most absurd deaths that have happened in the world. Are you ready to dive into this journey with us?
1. Killed by a falling cow
One of the most absurd and unexpected incidents occurred in 2013 in Brazilwhen a man named João Maria de Souza died after that a cow fell through the roof of his house. The cow, which belonged to the neighbor, had escaped and found its way onto the roof of the house, built with flimsy materials. The weight of the animal caused part of the roof to collapse, causing the cow to fall right onto the bed where de Souza was sleeping. The man died from his injuries a few hours later in hospital. This type of accident seems more a comical cartoon scene What a real tragedy, but unfortunately it was all real.
2. Beer explosion in London
In 1814, London was the scene of an event as bizarre as it was tragic: the London Beer Flood. In a brewery in the St. Giles neighborhood, a huge cistern containing approximately 1.5 million liters of beer exploded, triggering a chain of ruptures in other nearby tanks. A massive wave of beer poured through the streets, knocking down houses and running over everyone was in his path. Eight people they died in the flood, some from drowning and others from damage caused by the rubble. Drowning in a flood of beer may seem absurd, but it was a tragic reality for Londoners of that era.
3. Burned alive by accident
King Charles II of Navarre, also known as Charles the Wicked, met his end in a highly unusual way. In 1387, while he was suffering from a serious illness, the king’s doctors decided to wrap it in a linen cloth soaked in brandy to “stimulate” blood circulation. To secure the cloth, they used a rope, which accidentally caught fire. The result was a tragic fire, during which the king was severely burned and died shortly after. This strange historical episode reminds us of medieval medical treatments were often rudimentary and sometimes lethal.
4. The Fall of the Flying Turtle
One of the most incredible documented incidents dates back to ancient Greece, where the playwright Aeschylus, known for his tragedies, died in decidedly ironic circumstances. According to the chronicles, Aeschylus was outdoors when an eagle, in flight, mistook his bald head for a stone and dropped a turtle on it, hoping to break the shell to feed on it. Instead, poor Aeschylus was fatally struck by the animal. Another comical movie scene, but tragically true.
5. The Orange Paradox
Another absurd way to die involves the seemingly harmless orange. In 1911, Bobby Leach, an acrobat known for crossing Niagara Falls in a barrel and surviving, met his end in a much more mundane way. While walking down the street in New Zealand, slipped on an orange peel and broke his leg. The infection that followed led to his death. After surviving one of the most dangerous waterfalls in the world, dying from an orange peel seems like a mocking fate.
