Mexico City.– The American electric car manufacturer Tesla will update a potentially defective program in more than 27,000 Cybertruck trucks, the US Highway Safety Agency (NHTSA) reported.
In some vehicles, the screen may appear blank for six to eight seconds when engaging reverse, “which may affect the driver’s vision to the rear and increase the risk of a collision,” Tesla said in a notification to the NHTSA.
As of September 25, Tesla had registered 45 complaints from owners of these vehicles. “Tesla does not have information on crashes, deaths or injuries” due to this problem, the NHTSA said.
The manufacturer proposes a remote update of the program that regulates the camera in 27,185 vehicles manufactured between November 13, 2023 and September 14, 2024.
On Wednesday, Tesla reported its sales figures for the third quarter of this year, with almost 463 thousand vehicles delivered between July and September, in line with what analysts expected.
