In the UK, a girl filmed a unique pink grasshopper
An eight-year-old resident of Great Britain, who is passionate about photography, photographed a rare pink grasshopper. About this reports NDTV.
A girl named Jamie posted a photo of a unique insect on her social media page. “Wow, I just found a pink grasshopper. Only one percent of people will be so lucky in life,” the young British woman wrote.
She explained that the insect became pink due to a rare genetic mutation, which causes an excess of red pigment and a lack of black pigment in the insect’s shell. This abnormality is known as erythrism. Such insects are extremely vulnerable, as they lack natural camouflage and become easy prey for predators.
