Manny Pacquiao heads the list of possible new members of the Boxing Hall of Fame in Canastota, New York, which also includes the Mexican Yessica “Kika” Chávez.
The “Pacman”, who stood out in the ring until he was champion in eight different divisions – although not all of them were from the four most relevant organizations in boxing: WBC, IBF, WBA and WBO -, has his place assured to head the Class of 2025.
Voting to see who the new members of the immortals are will close in a few weeks and in December it will be known who were chosen for the induction ceremony, which is scheduled for June 5 to 8 of the following year. New members are divided into different categories. From those of the modern era, veterans, to contributors to the sport, observers – where journalists, executives, historians come in -, to modern and veteran women fighters. Manny, who appears on the ballot for the first time, left boxing with a record of 62-8-2, 39 KO’s.
Another monarch who will surely enter is the four-division world champion, Mikey García, who retired with a record of 40-2, 30 KO’s; as does the Welterweight world champion, Shawn Porter.
Among the women who stand out is “Kika”, world monarch in two different divisions and who hung up her gloves with a record of 32-5-3, 4 KO’s.
