Ukrainian War | Dominik Hasek raved about the NHL’s relationship with Russia – he used Patrik Laine and Juuse Saro as examples

Under the match, the Czech goalkeeper legend Dominik Hasek scolds the NHL in strong words in X. Hasek criticizes the league for allowing Russian stars to play in the series, even though Russia is waging a brutal war of aggression in Ukraine at the same time.

“This is the third season in which the NHL once again serves as an advertising platform for Russia’s imperialist war and other Russian crimes. The crimes include the genocide of Ukrainian children,” Hasek thunders.

“Once again the NHL is responsible for a large number of lives lost and injured! The fact that two teams arrived in Prague this time without Russian players does not change the matter,” continues Hasek.

In his writing, Hasek states that neither NHL linemen nor players are responsible for “advertising Russia’s horrible activities”.

“All responsibility rests with the NHL management! That means the 32 owners and commissioners of each NHL team Gary Bettman“, Hasek shakes.

Hasek would like to remind NHL fans that Patrik Laine and Juuse Saros behind the glory of such stars is an ugly truth.

“I want to say to all NHL fans that whenever Pastrnak, Draisaitl, Matthews or Laine scores, McDavid, Kucherov, Crosby or Dahlin pass the puck, Vasilevsky, Bobrovsky, Hellebuyck or Saros makes a great save, it’s a great viewing experience, but it’s also more of an advertisement for the atrocities the Russians commit in the war!”, Hasek rants.

Hasek says that he offered help to the NHL’s communications and management in setting the rules so that the series would not act as an advertisement for the Russian war.

“I also offer help to the Russian hockey players themselves, so that they can continue playing and are not an advertisement for their country’s imperialist war,” says Hasek.

Hasek retired from the NHL in 2012. He is widely regarded as one of the best goaltenders of all time. Among goalkeepers who have finished their careers, his save percentage is the best in NHL history: 92.2.
