A truck crashed into the outdoor area of a hardware store early Wednesday morning. According to initial information, the driver died before the accident.
Reichenbach – On Wednesday (October 2nd) something happened on the B94 in Heinsdorfergrund near Reichenbach in the Vogtland district (Saxony) a serious accident. A 54-year-old truck driver for the German parcel and letter express service DHL lost control of his vehicle in a left-hand bend. The truck then left the road, broke through a fence and came to a stop outside a hardware store Saxony Police announced.

What is particularly strange are the circumstances of the accident: According to the initial investigation, the truck left the road at around 12:15 a.m. This was only noticed in the early hours of the morning. The rescue workers who were called could only determine that the man was dead. Police suspect he was struggling with a “health issue” which led to the accident. The driver was already dead and did not succumb to his injuries.
Most recently, a truck left the road in Michelau in the Lichtenfels district. This then collided with a car and the truck driver was killed. According to the police, there were also indications of a medical cause in this case.
Dead driver leaves the road: police had to secure the truck with a tractor
To secure the scene of the accident, the federal highway had to be closed for over an hour. Traffic was then diverted around the scene of the accident in one lane to avoid long traffic jams during rush hour. The fire department was also on duty to secure the truck using a tractor and prevent it from tipping over. There were no other people involved in the accident. According to the police, the material damage caused amounts to 135,000 euros.
