A strong storm hit Milan today, creating flooding that sent traffic into a tailspin, especially in the central and northern part of the city. “This morning more than 40 mm of rain fell in an hour and in the Ponte Lambro district there were floods in via Vittorini”, the municipal councilor for Security and Civil Protection of Milan, Marco Granelli, communicates on social media.

“The Seveso rose above one metre, the Lambro rose very rapidly, to the north (Brugherio) now stable at around 1.40, still rising at Feltre 1.75. The Civil Protection system has been activated and they are in checks are underway. The Lambro should now go down and the rains have decreased and therefore the sewer system should also start absorbing”, he underlined.
