The city of São Paulo recorded this Wednesday, 2, a new temperature record for this year. According to measurements from the National Institute of Meteorology (Inmet), thermometers in the capital of São Paulo indicated a heat of 36.9°C at the Interlagos monitoring station, in the south zone.
Previously, the hottest day in São Paulo, throughout 2024, had been last Thursday, with a maximum of 36.3°C – according to measurements from Mirante de Santana. The index was hit after a string of other records broken consecutively on Tuesday and Wednesday.
From the end of the afternoon and during the night, the approach of a cold front from the coast will cause an increase in clouds and gusts of wind, says the CGE. But there is no rain forecast for Greater São Paulo this Wednesday.
The forecast is that the weather will change on Thursday, 3rd, with the advance of a cold front, which could cause cloudiness, isolated rain throughout the day and mainly a drop in temperature: thermometers should vary between 16°C and 22°C °C, according to CGE and Climatempo. Relative air humidity will be above 60%.
The mild weather should continue on Friday, the 4th, with temperatures between 15°C and 20°C, and on Saturday, the 5th, when thermometers should vary between 15°C and 23°C, according to Climatempo. On Sunday, the 6th, the heat will return: the forecast is 15°C to 32°C.
