Mexico City.- Given the recent escalation of tensions in the Middle East region and the increased level of risk, the Foreign Ministry called on Mexicans who are in that territory to seek refuge.
“The @SRE_mx urges Mexican people who are in Iran and Israel to immediately consider the possibility of moving to safer places, through available trade routes,” the Foreign Ministry requested through its social networks.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (SRE) issued this notice on its official channels and asked Mexicans in that region to contact diplomatic representations. “The Mexican Embassies in these two countries have been in permanent communication with the Mexican population, sharing the security recommendations of the local authorities,” he noted.
“It is also recommended that those who have not done so contact diplomatic representations as soon as possible, given the circumstances of insecurity and risk in which they find themselves,” he added.
The contact and emergency information in Israel is as follows: @EmbaMexIsr. In that country 054-316-6717 and from abroad +(972) 54-316-6717 [email protected]
While in Iran they are @EmbaMexIrn, in that country 0912-1224463 and from abroad +98-912-1224463 [email protected]. Yesterday, after 7:00 p.m., Iran launched 181 ballistic missiles against Israel in what was described as an unprecedented attack and what the attacked nation warned would be responded to, pushing the war in the Middle East to a dangerous escalation.
