São Paulo, 2 – Average ethanol production in the United States was 1.015 million barrels per day in the week ending Friday, September 27th. The volume is 2% higher than that recorded in the previous week, of 994 thousand barrels per day.
Biofuel stocks remained at the same level as the previous week, at 23.5 million barrels, while exports rose from 87 thousand barrels per day to 102 thousand barrels.
The numbers were released this Wednesday, 2, by the country’s Energy Information Administration (EIA), of the Department of Energy (DoE, for its English acronym).
Analysts consulted by Dow Jones Newswires they expected production between 980 thousand and 1.024 million barrels per day. As for stocks, estimates ranged from 23.2 million to 23.774 million barrels.
US ethanol production numbers are an indicator of domestic demand for corn. In the country, biofuel is mainly manufactured with grain and the local industry consumes more than a third of the domestic cereal harvest. Source: Dow Jones Newswires.
