The Denmark model was left behind.
Yesterday President Claudia Sheinbaum offered a new plan in health policy.
Without alluding to the millionaire megapharmacy project promoted by AMLO and whose efficiency was questioned, Sheinbaum announced that in mid-2025 the “Wellbeing Pharmacies” will be installed, which will be located next to the branches of the Banco del Bienestar to distribute free medicines mainly to older adults.
“To improve care and the supply of medicines, we are going to introduce science and technology. We are going to digitalize the entire logistical process,” offered the Morenista during her initial speech in the Zócalo.
In addition, it contemplates bringing doctors house to house for direct care of older adults and committed to ensuring sufficient access to vaccines, preventive care, laboratory tests and free medications for all.
A care program for the first thousand days of life will also be promoted.
“We will accompany pregnant women to attend their prenatal visits and give them free vitamin supplements. Newborns will be screened to prevent and detect vision, hearing and other health problems. We will promote breastfeeding in the first six months of age,” he promised.
AMLO boasted that Mexico was better than Denmark, a country with the best health services in the world.
