BayWareglobal player in the renewable energy sector, announces the conclusion of the works of Tarquinia solar park. The project, with a installed capacity of 51.4 MWpis connected to a substation specially built in Civitavecchia. The solar park, built on an industrial area, represents an important energy resource for the region and supplies electricity produced from renewable sources to over 35 thousand families. The system is made up of 94,388 fixed modules with a unit power of 545 Wp.
BayWare, the company explains in a note, acted as general contractor and sponsor of the project, managing in addition to the development of the plant all the authorization phases, the construction of the civil works and the installation of the photovoltaic panels. Significant mitigation works have been implemented to reduce the environmental impact and improve the integration of the solar park with the surrounding area. These works include the creation of an artificial pond necessary for the maintenance of aquatic microhabitats suitable for the colonization of amphibians, other vertebrates and aquatic macroinvertebrates. Furthermore, existing dry stone walls were preserved and restored to maintain landscape integrity and facilitate local biodiversity. The planting of native plant species has also been planned to create ecological corridors and improve environmental connectivity with nearby natural sites.
For Alessandra ToschiCEO of BayWa re Italia, “the conclusion of the works on the Tarquinia solar park represents a crucial step in our commitment to actively participate in the energy transition in Italy. This project demonstrates that it is possible to concretely contribute to the decarbonisation of the country while respecting the peculiarities of the territory. We are proud to be able to provide renewable energy to over 35 thousand families, while contributing to the maintenance of biodiversity and the conservation of the landscape.”
