Iran fires around 180 rockets at Israel. Millions are seeking refuge in shelters. Now the military is trying to determine the damage.
Tel Aviv – Israeli media has published footage of suspected damage caused by Iranian missile attacks. A video purportedly taken in a central Israeli city and from the Israeli broadcaster Can 11 divided shows a deep crater in the ground and dirt-covered cars in the area.
Videos have appeared on social media showing parts of rockets falling on Israeli cities such as Tel Aviv. A photo published by the Israeli military broadcaster from the Bedouin town of Tel Sheva in southern Israel, shows part of a tall rocketwhich is stuck vertically in the ground.
Iran attacks Israel with around 180 missiles – Iron Dome shoots down many
According to the Israeli military, there were some impacts in central Israel and others in the south of the country. The Israeli army reported that Iran fired a total of around 180 rockets towards Israel.
It was reported that most of them intercepted by Israel’s Iron Dome and a U.S.-led defense alliance became. An Israeli security official said the damage following the Iranian attack is currently being assessed.
During the attack from Iran, millions of people in Israel sought shelter in bunkers. Many people gathered in a shelter under a shopping center in central Tel Aviv. A woman reacted in panic to the sounds of explosions that could also be heard in the underground rooms.
Many people followed the news until the all-clear was given after about an hour and they were allowed to leave the bunker. After the attacks, there was little activity on the streets in the center of the coastal city. (with dpa)
