Many fear that Nintendo’s lawyers have struck againWhy the Ryujinx emulator has been removed. More precisely, the Github repository has been removed, without any official communication on the matter. Ryujinx was currently the most famous and used Nintendo Switch emulator.
Trying to access the page you get the classic 404 error. Also starting from official site of the emulator is of no use, since the download pages don’t work (they were linked to Github).
What happened?
There is no certainty that Nintendo has anything to do with the Ryujinx case, but the suspicions are really strong, considering the company’s precedents and its love for the courts, of which it is a fervent visitor.
Many fear that Ryujinx has ended up like Yuzu, another famous Nintendo Switch emulator killed last year. Unfortunately for now we are in the realm of mere speculation, so we have no certainties on the matter and many of the Ryujinx community channels are also groping in the dark. When we know something more we will certainly let you know, updating this news.
At the time of the YuZu demolition, many speculated that Nintendo wanted to pave the way for its new console by getting rid of the best performing Nintendo Switch emulatorsmany of which are unfortunately managed in a less than transparent way. Many wondered if sooner or later Ryujinx would also meet the same fate, despite it being an open source project. The answer may have arrived.
