PhoneArena: Android smartphones will become more expensive due to expensive processors
Manufacturers of flagship Android smartphones will raise prices for their devices in 2025. About this reports PhoneArena edition.
By words an insider under the nickname Digital Chat Station, the increase in price will be associated with new processors for devices. The expected Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 and Dimensity 9400 models will be 20 percent more expensive than their predecessors. Media journalists believe that producers will pass on the costs to consumers.
Thus, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 is priced at $190, while the Dimensity flagship will cost $155. The price increase is associated with the high cost of producing chips using the three-nanometer process technology. Including new processors should receive support for working with artificial intelligence (AI).
At the same time, it is impossible to say exactly how much smartphones will become more expensive. PhoneArena specialists explained that the final cost of the equipment consists of the volume of chips ordered and agreements between the manufacturer and supplier.
Earlier, the authors of the Nokiamob blog noticed that the Chinese corporation HMD Global, which owns the rights to the Nokia brand, stopped selling smartphones under this brand in Europe. This is due to the fact that the company began to develop phones under its own brand.
