There is no doubt that the sad closure of Tango Gameworks during 2024 was one of the most talked about stories. Fortunately, Krafton appeared from the shadows and managed to revive the studio and, in the process, HiFi Rush after they bought them from Microsoft.
Krafton development lead Maria Park told GamesIndustry that they were aware of the existence of the development of HiFi Rush 2which was happening right before Microsoft closed down Tango Gameworks.
Those from Krafton were already fans of what Tango Gameworks had done with the rhythm video game and seeing the opportunity that they could revive the studio, they decided to take it. Now, many would think that it would be putting everything together from scratch, however, the good news is that not only did they rescue 50 employees, they managed to hire another 40 who had already found a job.
Now, let’s not lose sight of the detail that the Hi-Fi Rush sequel project was already underway and had a playable demo that had already been in development for 6 months, which is a considerable amount of time. It remains to be seen if the game follows the same direction.

What is going to happen to the physical version of Hi-Fi Rush?
Many ended up a little sad to know that Tango Gameworks closed and that we were not going to have a sequel to HiFi Rush. Come on, the hopes of the franchise moving forward were in tatters.
Now, many feared that Tango Gameworks’ rhythm game would no longer have its promised physical release, however, Limited Run announced that its plans were going ahead, so the chances of preservation were still there.
At the time of writing, it is no longer possible to reserve a physical copy of HiFi Rushhowever, when the game comes out, several copies of the more austere edition will surely be sold, and that will be the best time for you to get it.
