Finnish home cooking is often carefully seasoned. Experimenting with more special or strong spices may be shy.
“We’ve only had pork, frosting and root vegetables throughout history, so maybe seasoning hasn’t developed that terribly,” the chef Harri Syrjänen says.
But you can always change and move forward, he adds.
