The manga work of Jujutsu Kaisen It ended on September 30, 2024, in issue 44 of Shuēisha’s Weekly Shōnen Jump. The installment written and illustrated by Gege Akutami—which was serialized for six years—ended in an interesting way, after having a long arc of battles. The outcome struck all the fans like lightning.
The dark fantasy story allowed us to follow our beloved sorcerers for quite some timeHowever, everything comes to an end, this time we had to say goodbye to the journeys of Yuji Itadori and company. The young people will continue in the world of sorcery and some new reforms will begin to be considered after the situations faced by the most important families, in addition to the organization’s own authorities, in the breakup that endangered the world: Sukuna, the king from the curses, “recovering” his power.
The Shinjuku arc, one of the largest and in which we saw intense confrontations, brought together quite a few chapters. The final part presented us with an arena in which everyone began to fight against the king of curses, who destroyed everything in front of him.
Jujutsu Kaisen It gave us a rather inconsistent ending and it felt somewhat rushed, and here I tell you why I think this.
Spoiler alert! — Jujutsu Kaisen ending details
How did Jujutsu Kaisen end?
Jujutsu Kaisen is a dark fantasy story in which an organization of sorcerers fights against curses and evil spirits, however, there are certain political and social status conflicts that sustain the magical universe, and build it due to needs.
In fact, in the second season we saw how the Zenin family is a true calamity, on the other hand, we also managed to see how Gojo and Geto had their own intentions to rebel against the system. So all of this came together to end the Gege Akutami series.
Part of the end of Jujutsu Kaisen:
Gojo Satoru, the most beloved hero of Jujutsu Kaisen, He died at the hands of the king of curses who subsequently fell into the trap that the sorcerers had devised as plan B, in case the strongest sorcerer of all died – as happened -. After this, Yuta and Yuji – with key roles in the battle – managed to defeat Sukuna, after this, Yuji offers him a new opportunity to continue living as his guest, however, Sukuna declines the offer.
After this, after sealing the last finger, everyone tries to return to normal, so what this new system will be like is outlined.
Gojo is dead. However, Nobara is alive, as are Yuta and Megumi, among other of the sorcerers we claimed were dead…

Why was the end of Jujutsu Kaisen so bad?
Let’s clarify from the beginningwhat we could consider as a bad outcome: an inconsistent ending, which does not respect the very principles of the work; and it is that, Jujutsu Kaisen It was a very dark delivery, quite (un)fortunate, from the perspective that everything that happened became chaos full of death and destruction, starting from a world regulated in a grotesque and immutable way.
The characters suffered because of their families and even because of their entry into the school environment by being part of the organization of sorcerers. And of course, because of that, there was no way to escape the system.
In this way, Jujutsu Kaisen It stood as an anti-system story, very well defined, and of course, structured by the cunning of witchcraft and sorcery. One of the last arcs proposed an endless battle, which spread like a sea tide, the characters fell one by one, the fans were left without fortune cards for a pleasant finale, since the tone pointed to total fatalism: a) because “Sukuna [el mal] won”, b) to Yuji giving in (as it seemed Megumi would do), and becoming a curse, among other outcomes of the same style.
Nevertheless, I recognize that there was doubt, hope, for a better future, which gave Jujutsu Kaisen the essence of classic shonen And in fact, that was what was chosen, an outcome in which the trio of friends survives and remains strong thanks to the teachings of their teacher.
Jujutsu Kaisen was inclined to close with a fatalistic ending (like that of Devil Man Cry Baby), however, it surprised us by bringing almost the entire cast back to life, with the exception of the most beloved and most requested: Gojo Satoru.
Hope remained, at the end of the day, Gege Akutami revived Yuta who practically had a brain transplant and also Nobara who, it seemed, had lost half her head. However, there was no salvation for Gojo Satoru.
A quick analysis makes us think that Kugisaki’s half-shattered head might have been more complicated to redesign than Gojo’s halved body, but even with that, the girl came back and the teacher didn’t.
The mangakas, I clarify, are not there to give us the ending we want, but rather the one that the story itself requests, and well, in reality, we all applaud the return of the voodoo sorceress. However, it is noticeable that the girl returned from a complex scenario, while the professor did not, this makes the narrative a little unstable in contrasts of possibilities.
On the other hand, if we talk about the rhythm that Jujutsu Kaisen I had, honestly, the announcement at the end itself was quite abrupt and even impossible to process. There were several loose ends and little room to unravel them, we all wondered how this would turn out. Everything was quite fast compared to the development of the other narrative nodes.
Nobody could say that Gege Akutami didn’t surprise us, because he did in the last chapters. Everyone wondered why the rush of energy to finish the story arose so suddenly. It was inevitable to consider some kind of boredom – could he have gotten bored with the story? Is that why he wants to finish it soon?, we asked ourselves—and in response to that, we got the abruptness of the last moments of Jujutsu Kaisen. Of course, these are issues that cannot be verified, but it was quite surprising and inevitable not to consider it that way.
Jujutsu Kaisen It is one of the jewels of Shuēsiha, or era, to be more precise.

Was the ending of Jujutsu Kaisen “bad”?
The outcome of Jujutsu Kaisenand it felt rushed, somewhat ambiguous and also inconsistent. However, it is likely that the message of the work was delivered the way the mangaka wanted, like all dark shonen authors, in a sinister and absurd way, as well as fleeting and fiery, so, from my perspective, This could be considered positive, right?
The end of Jujutsu Kaisenfrom my perspective, is not bad, but it gives the impression of being a sketch, an unedited ending, a hasty conclusion, a lax and dull ending, at least, corresponding to the development of serialization.
