In the splendid setting of Imola, the 2024 season of the CIV came to an end, with the Superbike title already assigned to Michele Pirro, now a man of records in the Italian Speed Championship. However, many titles were still to be awarded and the adrenaline was not lacking on one of the most iconic racetracks in the world. Always with an eye towards the sky, with a memory of Luca Salvadori, posthumous champion of the National Trophy 1000.
Superbikes
Saturday – Lorenzo Zanetti was the first to pass under the checkered flag. The winner instead was Alessandro Delbianco. With the Superbike title already won by Michele Pirro at the beginning of the month at Mugello, all attention was on the second and third final positions as well as on the presence on the track of the 2023 CIV Superbike Champion: Lorenzo Zanetti. His race was perfect, with the Ducati Broncos n1 Zanetti was in fact almost always at the top, managing to get ahead of everyone under the checkered flag. “Zorro” who, by virtue of the double long penalty to be served due to last year’s accident, finished in fourth position. Saturday – Finish ahead of Davide Stirpe to continue fighting for the title. This was Luca Ottaviani’s mission today. Starting from pole, the MV Agusta Extreme standard bearer achieved the feat, remaining in the lead for almost the entire race and going on to achieve a very important victory. Fourth success of the season for him. Second position went to Andrea Giombini (Ducati Broncos), who did well to stay close to Ottaviani. Third podium in 2024 for Giombini. Third place was won by Davide Stirpe. Saturday – Emotions down to the last in the category. The victory went to Emanuele Cazzaniga, his third of the season. The Yamaha Racestar standard bearer thus managed to keep the Championship open, by virtue of the result of his direct rival, Alfonso Coppola (Kawasaki Pedercini), 6th in the race. With one heat to go Coppola is in the lead with 184 points. and Cazzaniga second at -16. Returning to the race, second position for Mattia Rato (Kawasaki 2R Racing) with Giacomo Zannoni (Kawasaki E&E Squadra Corse) closing the podium. Saturday – Emotions right to the end, with the final joy of the Italian title. The victory in the race went to Josephine Bruno. The Kawasaki Gradaracorse rider became Italian champion in the best possible way, Bruno had in fact been the author of the pole position and achieved the best lap of the race on the last lap (2’11.610). Sixth seasonal success for her. Behind her, second position for Monica Robotta (Kawasaki) with Nicole Cicillini (Yamaha) third. In the general classification Bruno is therefore champion with 159 points. ahead of Nicole Cicillini with 122 points. and Denise Dal Zotto (Yamaha, fourth in the race) at 119 p.
Sunday – The Champion wins again. Josephine Bruno (Kawasaki Gradaracorse), after yesterday’s success and the conquest of the title, closed this CIV Femminile season as well as she could, going on to obtain the victory today too.
