Putin said that all planned goals of the special operation will be achieved
Russian President Vladimir Putin on Monday, September 30, addressed the Russians about the special operation, again indicating that all its goals would be achieved.
The reason for the speech was the Day of Reunification with Russia of the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics, as well as the Zaporozhye and Kherson regions. Congratulating citizens on this “truly fateful event,” he said that they had come to it through years and difficult trials, recalling the shelling of Donbass since 2014.
Putin said that Russia did not abandon “its brothers and sisters” in this region, for which, according to him, the Russian Federation is the historical homeland. At the same time, the country tried to achieve a peaceful resolution to the most difficult conflict, but “the negotiations ended with lies, forgery and deception on the part of the Western elites, who during this time turned Ukraine into their colony, into a military springboard aimed at Russia,” the Russian leader added.
Putin said that the special operation is liberating in nature
Stating also that Ukraine and the West were targeting Donbass, Crimea and other Russian regions, the Russian president spoke outthat the special military operation (SVO) is of a liberation nature, and the unfolding events confirmed its necessity and validity.
Addressing directly the residents of the new regions, Putin thanked them for their resilience, determination, firmness and for passing on spiritual values, historical memory, traditions and culture from generation to generation.
“Today, together we defend a safe, prosperous future for our children and grandchildren, our common destiny,” Putin added.
He recalled that enterprises are being restored in the territories of new regions, houses and social institutions are being built, and all Russian regions, businesses, volunteers, public organizations, and politicians are included in this.
The truth is on our side. All planned goals will be achieved
The holiday was established a year ago
Vladimir Putin signed a law that established September 30 as the Day to celebrate the reunification of new regions with Russia, September 28 last year, before the first anniversary of the event.
The document establishing the Day of Reunification of Russia with the DPR and LPR, as well as with the Kherson and Zaporozhye regions, was submitted by Putin himself to the State Duma. There, the corresponding law was adopted in three readings on September 19, and the Federation Council approved it on September 25.
New regions became part of Russia on September 30, 2022. Referendums in these territories were held from September 23 to 27. According to the results of voting in the LPR, 98.42 percent of residents were in favor of joining, in the DPR – 99.23 percent, in the Kherson region – 87.05 percent, in the Zaporozhye region – 93.11 percent.
