Tax, the amnesty for taxes evaded between 2018-2022. The details of the Omnibus Decree arriving in the Senate
The government Melonsthrough the Dl Omnibus which arrives in the Senate today, opens a new chapter in the relationship between the companies and the Tax. Green light to agreed biennial budget for 2024 and 2025. To convince the 4.5 million people potentially interested in this provision, the executive decided to allow VAT numbers to regularize cheap – a real “amnesty” according to the opposition – the sums evaded in the period 2018-2022. This is provided for by a majority amendment (signed by Fausto Orsomarso by Brothers of Italy, Massimo Garavaglia of the League and Dario Damiani of Forza Italia) to the Omnibus decree approved by the Senate Budget and Finance Committees.
With this “active repentance“, as the majority calls it, – reports Il Corriere della Sera – taxpayers who by 31 October will adhere to the “biennial preventive agreement” (system for paying very reduced rates, from 3 to 15%, on the highest incomes declared in 2024 and in 2025) will be able to repay the sums evaded in 2018-2022 under particularly advantageous conditions. “It’s technically a I forgive — Maria Cecilia Guerra (Pd), former undersecretary of the Economy, attacks Il Corriere — because the tax evaded and consequently the tax due are reduced by up to 5%.“.
The amendment also required a coverage of 986 million for the next 5 years, because the State renounces a part of the revenues expected from the normal assessment activity. But Garavaglia, one of the signatories of the text, talks about coverage “purely formalbecause we know very well that they are rules that then increase revenue“. In fact, the majority aims, through this amendment, to expand as much as possible the number of workers and businesses that will accept the agreed biennial budgetfrom which the government hopes to obtain a couple of billion which would be useful for extending the reduction of the Irpef to incomes up to 60 thousand euros.
