Weather|The week started with night frosts, but the sun is already shining during the day.
Autumn has stayed far away, but now it arrived with a thud.
We were close until a couple of weeks ago heat readingsuntil the weekend your storm and now last night in northern Finland it was already seen night frosts.
“Probably somewhere in the south it was a bit on the freezing side,” says Foreca’s on-duty meteorologist Ilkka Alanko.
The night before Tuesday will be a little milder in Lapland, but cold again in the south, Alanko knows how to tell.
According to Alanko, the week starts sunny and dusty. Rain has not been promised anywhere in Finland for Monday and Tuesday.
However, as the week progresses, the cloudiness increases. According to Alanko, rain or snow showers will be seen in Northern Finland on Thursday.
Last in spring, the weather showed a scene where it was still snowing heavily in southern Finland in Aprilbut it was already May exceptionally warm.
For many, it felt like spring wouldn’t have been at all.
What’s going on now: will we see autumn in Finland, or will winter start again soon?
“The forecasts do not show a big cooling down. We have normal temperatures for this time of year,” says Alanko.
During the next week, daytime temperatures in southern Finland will average 10–12 degrees, while in Lapland the thermometer will show 2–7 degrees.
“The beginning of next week will be mild in the south, ten degrees of heat. In Lapland, if something rains, it’s snow or water.”
